Vanina

"Audacity" and "attention": two words that describe Vanina to a tee. The audacity to adopt unconventional pieces, and the acumen to choose them for their beauty. In 2007, Tatiana Fayad and Joanne Hayek, friends from a young age, decided to join forces and design jewellery that is both sparkling and sublime. What started as a small local business gradually evolved into a line of ready-to-wear and handbags, but - most importantly - into a label that makes their native Lebanon proud. Thanks to their effortless and universal aesthetic, the creations of the artistic duo are gaining popularity and allowing them to broaden their horizons. From its hand-made beginnings, Vanina has continued to grow without ever turning its back on its country of origin. Its pieces are still the result of sustainable design. They are made in Beirut, created in collaboration with local suppliers, and promote job creation. These new jobs are aimed at the region’s women in particular. Which is no surprise, as Vanina has campaigned for women's access to work since its creation and is dedicated to women’s rights. These socially responsible commitments are also accompanied by environmental ones, with some of its products made from upcycled materials. Designed for women from all walks of life, whatever their background, daily lives or personalities, Vanina creations draw their inspiration from art, nature and a feeling of joie de vivre, the designers' true driving force. And the Lebanese label's handbags are no exception to the rule. Delicate yet irreverent, they put their own stamp on classic jewellery design, featuring pearls, rhinestones and beads, for a sparkling and lyrical style. The most romantic among you are sure to fall for La Pluie d'Amour, a handbag whose pearls trickle gently down the side, while those who like a bit of bling are more likely to covet the Pirouette bag or clutch, whose large faceted crystals have a distinctly vintage feel. And for fans of vibrant colours, there’s the Les Nuances bag, in a monochrome Baguette or multicoloured Bucket version, as well as the Arc en Ciel pearls.
