Dolce&Gabbana

It's 1985. Two Italian fashion designers join forces and - without really knowing it – get ready to become one of the biggest fashion houses of their time. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were both equally passionate about sensual fashion and the flawless beauty of their favourite movie stars. Together, they imagined figure-hugging dresses adorned with multicoloured crystals, silks with baroque prints and exceptional accessories. Over the years, the duo's style has become synonymous with opulence and continues to seduce lovers of luxurious fashion today. In 2022, the iconic Italian house made a bold and impressive comeback thanks to arguably the most famous family of its generation, the Kardashian - Jenner clan. The main sister to thank for this success is Kourtney. As she prepared for her wedding to rock 'n' roll star Travis Barker and searched for the dress in which she would say "I do", she spotted a photo of a vintage dress by Dolce & Gabbana, whose embroidered corset represented the Virgin Mary. Without further ado, her team got in touch with the brand, and it was eventually decided that the wedding would take place in Portofino, Italy. In addition to designing her white lace mini dress and huge matching veil, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana offered to host the reception in their personal residence and to dress the whole family, too. Unsurprisingly, Kourtney Kardashian's wedding turned into the fashion event of summer 2022. Since then, Dolce & Gabbana further embraced this new friendship with the Kardashian sisters by choosing the very fashionable Kim as a muse and collaborator. With peroxide blonde hair reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe, devouring a pizza in the back seat of a car, Kim Kardashian was elevated to the rank of fashion icon in a first advertising campaign. It marked the launch of the Dolce & Gabbana Spring-Summer 2023 collection, curated by Kim herself and inspired by the House's archives. Like its instigators, the collection is sexy and opulent: ornate crystal-embellished dresses rub shoulders with dramatic lace, while mini bags, “D&G” emblem link belts, ankle boots and high-heeled sandals accessorise every look.
